Foundation program

The university foundation is an excellent alternative pathway for you either as an international student or local Australian or permanent resident to gain entry into the university of your preference in Australia.

This is particularly so for an international student or local Australian who has completed the equivalent of Year 11 high school study in overseas or in Australia and who do not wish to sit for the Higher School Certificate examination to gain entry into university to do an undergraduate degree.

By choosing to do the university foundation program, you are guaranteed a place to do the undergraduate degree program of your choice at the university of your preference if you have achieved the final scores in your English language and other academic subjects as pre-determined by the university concern.

Most foundation programs are conducted within the university campus and therefore you are able to experience and adapt to many aspects of university life and Australia environment before you start your undergraduate degree studies.

Streams of study:

Depending on the major you plan to do in your undergraduate degree program, you will be recommended to do the following streams of study:

1. Physical Science - Engineering and science or medicine degree programs.

2. Life Science - Health Science and related science and technology programs.

3. Commerce/Business- Accounting or other commerce related programs.

4. Design/Fine Arts/Media Building- Media, design and art or architectural related program.

5. Arts/Social Sciences International studies- Arts, Humanities or Laws related programs.

Apart from academic qualification, you will also need to provide English language proficiency evidence which meets the direct entry requirements. Recognised English language evidence includes:
